It was a perfect night for racing Friday Night at Chateau Raceway in Lansing, Powered by Husqvarna. After a week off last week because of rain the drivers were ready for some action. Add that to the fact that another weeks worth of light rain soaked into the track assuring a tacky-fast track things were set up for a night of excitement.

In the "Triple J Disposal" Classic Dwarf class, which has been dominated by one driver this year, there was some big news on the night. Rick Utley of Byron who had taken nine of the ten heat and features run over the first five weeks of the season apparently is done. The news around the track was that he had sold his car and with him not in the pits it opened things up for some other drivers to get a look at victory lane. Kevin Bigalk of Austin took advantage as he scored his first sweep as he took home his heat and the feature for the night. Kevin lead every lap of both his races as he shot out of row two to the point on the first lap of his heat and than took advantage of an outside front row starting spot in the feature. Dave Marso of Sioux Falls South Dakota, who had won the classes other heat on the night, started back in row four and slowly made his way forward. Bigalk had built up a pretty god lead until a caution bunched the field back up for a two lap sprint. With Bigalk on the point and Marso and John Griffin of Rushford right behind him the green flag came back out again. The trio went three wide down the front straightaway with Kevin coming out of turn two in front. Marso pulled past Griffin for second but had nothing for Bigalk as the checkers fell. Kevin did set the fastest time for the class for this season during the night; Griffin meanwhile took over the points lead and is eight markers up on Bigalk.

Next Friday night will be the "Tenth Annual Mike Guttormson Memorial". The race has been postponed by rain twice and the $1000 to win feature money is just waiting for the opportunity to be awarded to the winner of the "Noble RV" USRA Modified Main Event. The track will also run the "Power 96" WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, "Affordable Portable" WISSOTA Street Stocks, and the "Albert Lea Pizza Ranch" Pure Stocks. The "S and S Auto Salvage" Hornets and the "Triple J Disposal" Classic Dwarf Cars will have the night off. Race time is set for 7:30.
