Chateau Raceway Classic Dwarf Report August 3, 2007

Temperatures cooled a bit for racing action Friday night at Chateau Raceway in Lansing, Powered by Husqvarna, but the racing was hotter than ever.

Things got a little tighter in the "Triple J Disposal Classic Dwarf" car points race as John Griffin of Caledonia who sits second in points put together a pair of wins on the night. Griffin now trails Kevin Bigalk of Austin by just nine points after he out dueled Kevin in both of the classes races. In the feature Dave Anderson of Lyle took the early lead with Griffin and Bigalk lining up behind him. The two swapped spots several times as they tried to find a line to challenge Anderson. On lap twelve Bigalk made the big move from third to first. Griffin moved up to second one lap later and as they came to the white flag John made the jump to the front and came home with his third feature win of the year and his first sweep of the season.

The nights racing program was sponsored by Jerry’s Supper Club of Owatonna. The tracks weekly kids promotion was a "Candy Drop". All the youngsters in attendance went down onto the infield in front of the front straightaway where lots of candy was spread out for them. They all charged the track and scrambled for all the candy they could hold. Next weeks kids friendly promotion will include a couple of big events. There will be car rides for the kids before the races and than at intermission a small kids four wheeler will be given away. The kids have been able to register to win it all season long and will have one more chance to sign up again on Friday night. Than some lucky youngster will take it home at the end of the night. It’s a must be present to win giveaway so names will continue to be drawn until it’s claimed. Racing action gets underway at 7:30 every Friday night at Chateau Raceway in Lansing.
